Sharon Goeckner CPA, CFP®
Sharon brings decades of experience in tax and financial planning to her role as a financial advisor. At Goeckner Financial, Sharon focuses on building trusted client relationships, developing thoughtful financial plans, and educating clients on strategies that fit their lives. Her background in tax planning brings an added layer of insight to her work, allowing for a well-rounded approach to financial decision-making.
Sharon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
She began her career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), working at another tax practice for 12 years before founding Goeckner Accounting, Inc. Her desire to offer more comprehensive financial guidance led her to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®) in 2001 - a designation that reflects training in key areas such as retirement planning, investments, insurance, and estate strategies.
She and her husband, Dean, are proud parents of four grown children and grandparents to two. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, catching broadway shows, and recently picked up a new hobby - golfing.
Amy Rippetoe
Amy serves as the primary point of contact between clients and the advisory team, helping ensure every interaction is met with care and attention. She provides day-to-day service and administrative support, helping clients stay connected and informed throughout their financial journey.
Amy brings over 20 years of experience in bookkeeping and administrative roles, including payroll, tax preparation, and office management. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Lakeland College and is actively involved in the Altamont community. She has served as Treasurer for the Altamont Sports Boosters for eight years, as well as for the Friends of Altamont Sesquicentennial Committee and the Altamont Chamber of Commerce since 2022.
She and her husband Jason have been married for 20 years and is a proud mom of three. Outside of the office, she enjoys jeeping, baking custom birthday cakes for family and friends, traveling, and spending time with the people she loves.
Tom Kingery
Tom Kingery works with individuals, retirees, and small business owners to help them navigate investment choices and financial planning decisions. His role includes developing strategies tailored to a range of financial goals, along with providing guidance on investment selections.
Before joining Goeckner Financial, Tom was a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Eastern Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Illinois State University.
Tom is actively involved in the local community, including St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Catholic Heart Workcamp, Teutopolis Sports Backers, and the Effingham Chamber of Commerce.
He and his wife are proud parents of six children - five daughters and one son - and a son-in-law. In his free time, Tom enjoys traveling and visiting his adult children who now live out of state.
